Acceptance speech of the director, Park Chan-wook

“There was a time when all humanity raised its borders due to COVID-19, but we all shared a common fear and concern. Cinemas also went through a moment when movie theaters lost their viewers, but that was when we became aware of the value of the cinema. As we have the hope and strength to overcome the pandemic, I believe our films and filmmakers will be able to protect cinemas and films for good.

I would like to express my gratitude to the team members; Miky Lee (vice-president of the CJ group, Lee Mi-kyung) as well as the screenwriter, Chung Seo-kyung, and most importantly, I cannot express with words my love for the actors Park Hae-il and Tang Wei. Having nothing further to add, thank you very much.”
